After 25 years, happy grunge returns to Charlottesville! UVA students, Sean, Sean, Dan, Mike, Paul and Tim are delighted to reunite Slackjaw for a night at the Jefferson Theater on June 12th, 2020. Having gained regional acclaim in the mid-90s, Slackjawblends guitar driven hooks, meanderingly complex bass riffs, pounding drums and silky Vedder-esque vocals into meaningful musical poetry. Over 4 years Slackjaw released 2 albums (AFH & Rider), participated in the 3rd AWARE Records release, appeared in MTV’s Road Rules and Real World, played the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, and travelled across the US playing to many (and sometimes just a few) in a fight for attention in an overcrowded indie market. Now older and wiser but ever passionate for creating ear candy Slackjaw looks forward to Rock and Roll with you this June.
