Franz Ferdinand

Formed in Glasgow in 2002, Franz Ferdinand are Alex Kapranos (vocals, guitar), Nick McCarthy (guitar, keys), Bob Hardy (bass) and Paul Thomson (drums). Their debut album Franz Ferdinand put the band firmly on the map. It reached no.3 in the UK charts, won the Mercury Music Prize in 2004 and was named album of the year by NME. Since then the band has gone from strength to strength with their 2005 platinum selling second album You Could Have It So Much Better topping the UK album charts and the making top 10 in the Billboard 200 in the US. Franz Ferdinand won 2 Brit awards in 2005 and have been Grammy nominated 5 times, selling nearly 7 million records worldwide.

The band’s acclaimed 3rd LP Tonight saw the band embark on a 2 year world tour, and chart at no 2 in the UK and top 10 in the Billboard 200 in the US.

In 2013 Franz Ferdinand released Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action, charting at number 6 in the UK and top 10 throughout Europe.
