Gogol Bordello

with Puzzled Panther plus Crazy & The Brains

Since 1999, International punk band Gogol Bordello, led by Ukrainian frontman Eugene Hütz, has been filling up rooms with an energy that could run a whole city. Their latest album Solidaritine is no exception, going back to their hardcore roots. The band has lit up stages around the world alongside System of a Down, Primus, Rancid, Dropkick Murphys, dueted with Regina Spektor, appeared in films like Liev Schreiber’s Everything Is Illuminated with Elijah Wood and Filth and Wisdom helmed by Madonna, cutting albums with legends Rick Rubin and Steve Albini. Russia's war in Ukraine is personal for Eugene & the band, who have been tirelessly advocating for Ukrainian solidarity, partnering with Nova Ukraine, ArtDopomoga and beyond. In 2023, documentary Scream of My Blood: A Gogol Bordello Story (Executive Producer Liev Schreiber) held its world premiere at Tribeca Film Festival, leaving with a Special Jury Mention for Best New Documentary Director Award.

NY psycho gen Z’s Victoria Espinoza (lead vocals) & Kay Bontempo (guitar, vocals) were brought up on a steady diet of Sonic Youth, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Gogol Bordello & Ramones. Backed by Eugene Hütz of Gogol Bordello (electric guitar/beats), Brian Chase of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs (drums), and Alex Ryaboy (bass). Is that even real life? Yes. Only in NYC. Your ultimate New New York band that ties it all together is here: Disco Punk Euphoria and No Wave Spazmatics in one mindmelt. “Plus they write truly killer songs, and that’s why! “ — Eugene Hütz adds. After a year of touring the US & Europe in 2023, Puzzled Panther’s debut EP is set to drop on Casa Gogol Records this year, with lead single produced by Nick Launay (Nick Cave, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Amyl and the Sniffers, Public Image Ltd, Gang of Four).

There is no “Crazy.  “The Brains” are not the 5 sensational musicians backing Bayonne NJ -based bug-eyed superhero Christoph Jesus, that’s not how it works. Crazy & The Brains are the messed up messages being fired through the mind of Jesus after growing up on a steady diet of New Jersey pizza, punk and rap music. Crazy & The Brains happens when Tim Armstrong, Bruce Springsteen, Santigold, Gucci Mane, and Basquiat jump into a blender. It’s the technicolor reimagining of everything Christoph Jesus has experienced and seen through the lenses of his beaten up Versace shades. Crazy & The Brains is never the same thing twice and with a new lineup boasting a saxophone and second guitar they are bolder than they have ever been before. Christoph Jesus, Ernest Young, Zac Pless, Rob Mellinger, Anya Combs, and Grace Bergere are NJ born, NYC based, East Side freaks Crazy & The Brains, and they certainly don’t deliver pizza anymore.
